Burghausen has enjoyed an outstanding reputation far and wide for many years for its lively cultural scene. The "Kultur im Kloster" events organized by Burghausen municipality add some varied highlights to the calendar at the Science & Study Center – top-notch concerts, readings and panel discussions are held in the opulent surroundings of the Aula maior or the "red salon".
And that's not all – rotating exhibitions of large sculptures in the outdoor areas are another common sight in Raitenhaslach. In early summer, the annual monastery market attracts scores of visitors, and the event has become something of an institution in its own right.
