Monastery market and "Architektouren"

Two reasons to visit the grounds around TUM Science and Study Center on the weekend of June 29 – 30, 2019: monastic market bustle and presentation of architecture.

Visitors of the market enjoy their freshly bought products onsite in Raitenhaslach.

Raitenhaslach’s annual monastery market enjoys great popularity with its nuns and monks from four different countries offering their hand-made delicacies, plants and herbs. Besides presentations about herbs in the arched hall, TUM Science and Study Center’s managing director, Barbara Kreuz and Burghausen’s curator of monuments, Wolfgang Hopfgartner offer guided tours through the indoor and outdoor spaces of the former Cistercian monastery. You can register for these tours at the stand of the Burghausen Tourist Information or beforehand via phone +49 8677 887 140.

Moreover, this year visitors have the unique opportunity of hearing Prof. Regine Keller’s first-hand explanations on the creation of the new forecourt of the prelate's building. With the planning of the design and supervising its realization, Prof. Keller got nominated for the award of the "TourismusArchitekturPreis 2019" and was accepted for the "Architektouren". The latter are annual cost-free presentations, which show successful results of architecture, landscape and interior architecture and city planning projects in Bavaria – such will be offered in Raitenhaslach on Saturday, June 26 at 14 pm. Meeting point is the forecourt of the monastery.

More detailed information about the program of the monastery market can be found in the flyer of the Burghausen Tourist office.
